Calgary 7s
Both teams played their hearts out and socks off! The competition was erce throughout; the Warriors team had some success but were unlucky to not make the nal, and the Apostles nished 6th while scoring tries against top level 7’s competition. The nal xture of the tour was against Red Deer Titans, this was a tough test against a good out t. The game started fast paced and would remain like that for the full 80 minutes, much to the excitement of the large crowd of spectators who came out to support. The RAPTC managed to nish their tour on a high with a hard fought victory against the Titans, winning the xture 27-17. The post- match hosting was once again outstanding, Canadian hospitality saw the men well fed and watered and in return we once again provided the entertainment for the evening.
The club continues to keep team spirit high with a number of friendly xtures and community engagements, including the annual friendly prior to the Army v Navy. This year the team played Farnborough RFC, with great intensity and sportsmanship throughout. In a hard fought game played in great spirit, the RAPTC were victorious with Sgt (SI) C Meyhew RAPTC gaining man of the match with 3 tries. This xture is a great opportunity to get the team together prior to the Annual RAPTC Sports Dinner which once again saw the Rugby Club well in attendance. This year wearing our new club blazer, bringing some much needed style and air to the event. The RAPTC Rugby Club narrowly missed out on team of the year to RAPTC Golf; this has only added more fuel to the passion of the club to win this award next year.
