Exercise RHINO SEAL - 30 Sep 16.
On a chilly autumn morning HQ 1 (UK) Div deployed to Runswick Bay, Saltburn-by-the-Sea, on the North Yorkshire Coast for a Physical Challenge to enhance teamwork, cohesion and intra- branch communication.
Led by General Of cer Commanding (GOC) Major General G P Hill CBE, 68 Staff from HQ dragged themselves from their busy desks to compete in a round robin of four military challenges planned by Major (MAA) Lee Neville RAPTC, SO2 G7 PD, assisted by WO1(SMI) RJP Lowe RAPTCI and AAPTIs from 2 Signal Regiment.
The participants were divided into a mixture of ranks and experience prior to completing the four arduous physical events. Each team was led by a JNCO, which proved quite challenging as many of the of cers were keen to in uence strategy.
Prior to having a cold shower on the beach, the GOC was keen to challenge the Commandant of Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst on the “22 Press Up challenge” which was sweeping across social media. The GOC led all those in attendance into the very cold North Sea to record a mass push up circuit.
