Skiing Achievements.
3 RSME REGT
WO2 (QMSI) AJ JESSEY and SGT (SI) J BREMNER
In November 2017, 3
Royal School of Military
Engineering Regiment, Royal
Engineers attended a 4 week
Corps Nordic ski camp held by
the Royal Engineers in Idre Fjall,
Sweden. The camp consisted
of a 4 week training package
balancing the disciplines that
make up the sport. Classic
technique, skate technique
and the combination of Skiing
and shooting, which form the
discipline of Biathlon. The nal
week was race week and all
participating teams battled it
out in both individual and team
races. 3 RSME were awarded
with the ‘’Brimstone Trophy’’ as the overall winners of The Royal Engineers Nordic Ski Championships 2017.
Exercise Minley Chase. Ex Minley Chase is an annual training exercise consisting of a 24hr running race conducted over the local area of Minley Station. 42 Teams from across the RSME group and Minley Station took part in the race in July 2016 and raised £8,300 for The Army Benevolent Fund (ABF) and CLIC Sargent Charity.
Phase 2 PT Syllabus. The PT at 3 RSME for the Phase 2 Combat Engineers has adapted well to the new Ph 2 Syllabus. The PT has gone from a running endurance bias to a more rounded PT programme which picks up where Phase 1 Training nishes. Not only has the Sapper’s physical performance bene tted from a multi PT component programme, the injury rates have signi cantly decreased since its inception.
