CAPABILITY &
NETWORK DEVELOPMENT
2 RANGER have invested significantly in developing their partnership and interoperability with the Green Berets of 3rd Special Forces Group (3 SFG (A)).
Over the past two years we
have embedded 3 SFG teams into
our companies as they validate for operations through Ex APOLLO SABRE. Most recently we deployed
a combined team on Ex HAWGER, a jungle exercise in Hawaii. Teams are now set to deploy as part of 3 SFG companies on Ex SAGE EAGLE, where they will learn how the Green Berets conduct Unconventional Warfare; and JRTC, where they deploy as a Light Role SOF team contributing to Large Scale Combat Operations.
Members of the 2 RANGER Operations and Intelligence team took part in a 3 SFG Battalion Command Post Validation Exercise in Fort Liberty, learning valuable lessons for how a Special Operations Task Force delivers unconventional warfare. A number of 2 RANGER JNCO and SNCOs have also attended various US Special Forces courses, including the Special Forces Advanced Urban Combat Course (SFAUCC) and Advanced Sniping courses. At command level, there have
been numerous engagements both
in the home bases in the US and UK, and also in operational headquarters in Somalia and Djibouti. These capability and network development activities have now developed into operational opportunities, with 2 RANGER set to work with 3 SFG and other US SOF on combined operations in East Africa.
Besides our US partnerships, considerable efforts have been made with our operational partnerships.
2 RANGER regularly conduct joint training activity and exercises in Kenya that test our interoperability, and provide genuine moments to develop from each other tactics, protocols and procedures.
Unilaterally we conducted a Command Post Exercise in Kenya, which developed our knowledge and skills of how to deploy a C2 node discreetly
via civilian airlines, locally resourcing essential equipment and maintaining
a minimal footprint with UK reach

We also created and delivered the inaugural East Africa Patrols Course, which developed a reversionary FIND capability supported by the ability
