Overview
A & B Companies have four Mercian Badged Detachments between them, Stourbridge, Stourport, Halesowen and Kidderminster.
We have had a very busy year during 2014.
We have taken part in many varied activities which have included sporting, military, community and civic events.

SMI McClay has been appointed as the new CSM and SSI Tony Evans has been appointed as the Company CQMS
A & B Company Achievements (Mercian)
Community
Cadets took part in fund raising events for the Army Benevolent Fund at Worcester Army Reserve Centre as well as an open day in Malvern for SSAFA.
We also assisted at the annual Bonfire at Worcester Race Course with the Round Table.
Cadets from Stourport and Kidderminster are continuing to assist The Canal
Trust initiative started by SSI Phil Wood
and carried out many canal clean ups throughout the year.
Cadets from B Company took part in
an organised trip to Normandy with the Evesham Royal British Legion at the end of May, 6 cadets from Kidderminster and Evesham along with 2 adult staff attended.
All those who went visited many of the strategic sites around Normandy including – War Cemeteries, Museums, Battle
sites, they also took part in Services of Remembrance while on the trip.
Sporting
Cadets from both A & B Company’s took part in the Battalion Athletics Competition and achieved great success in many of the track and field events, some going on to compete in Regional and National Competitions.
Other sporting achievements include competing in Cross County races and the Cadet Tri Service Athletics Competition held at RAF Cosford.
Shooting
Cadets from all Mercian Badged units took part in all aspects of shooting throughout the year, they took part in Air Rifle (.177) No 8 Rifle (.22) L98 Cdt GP A2 (5.56) cadet Target Rifle (7.62) and Shoot Gun (12 Bore).
Some represented their detachments and others went on to represent their respective
  Cpl Bayliss and Sgt Hill on their recent promotions at Kidderminster Platoon B Company
