Divisional Christmas Cake Competition – The department entered several entries into the 2018 divisional christmas cake competition held in Tidworth. Sergeant Holmes saw his entry into the traditional ginger bread centre piece category. Corporal Tress made a delicious cherry and pistachio stollen, whilst Lance Corporal Catton and Private Spence saw their finely decorated Christmas cakes narrowly miss out to some exceptional cakes.
Overall, this year has been busy but rewarding. We have seen people progress through their careers, partake in various ‘once in a life time’ activities and achieve a multitude of their goals. Bring on 2019.

Regimental Welfare Office
As you will have read, it has been another busy year for the Regiment, with pre-deployment training for Operation TOSCA 28 and C Squadron deploying to the British Army Training Unit Suffield (BATUS). With the Regiment heavily en- gaged and deployed away from their families, the Welfare Team and partners’ committee (led by Mrs Tori Bennison) have rel- ished the opportunity to keep families and partners entertained throughout the year. At the start of 2018, the Welfare Team said goodbye to Captain Joe Cassidy, who moved to the Training Of- ficer role, and hello to Captain Craig Borthwick.
 Easter Egg Hunt
With every operation there needs to be a cen- tral hub for planning and executing events, in this case Pennons has been ideal. Al- though less than per- fect, the Fondouk rooms have been well placed as an annex when we have seen extremely high num- bers attending func- tions. Throughout the year we have put on the normal three big events consisting of the Easter egg hunt, Halloween party and Xmas party.
As you can see, there has been a lot to keep fami-
lies entertained and supported. The Welfare Team also look after single soldiers, in particular the ones left filling roles in the Rear
