A BBQ, afternoon tea, scarecrow competition and children’s
drawing competition were all part of the day’s agenda and a total
of £532.74 was made for the celebrations. The days activities were covered by our local Radio (Radio Pembrokeshire) and the scarecrow competition was judged by Radio Pembrokeshire’s roving reporter, Mr Jim Hughes, who deemed our Secretary Mr Len Thomas’s Scarecrow the best in show!

District Allotment and Cottage Garden Association
On Saturday 30thApril 2016 the Haverfordwest & District Allotments and Cottage Garden Association held their  rst Open Fundraising Day. The event was held to raise money for a social fund to celebrate the site’s Centenary Year in 2017.
In 1917, a local businessman Mr Sidney Rees J.P., who later became Mayor and High Sheriff of the town of Haverfordwest, donated a 3.5 acre  eld to the townspeople to grow food due to the shortage of food during and after the Great War (First World War). 100 years later, the site is now self-managed by a Committee and has just held its  rst Open Day to raise funds to celebrate its 100 year
