facility which has all helped transform the physical development of everyone located here at Thorney Island.
12 Regiment are very much Sport Orientated and are punching well above their weight. However the two main sports played here are Rugby and Football, the Rugby team are the current Army champions and the football team are well established. I quickly got involved with both teams utilising my S&C degree which has helped with my knowledge whilst introducing a more scienti c critical approach to their training. The Regiment also run an annual charity boxing Gala with all funds raised going to the RA Charitable fund and Army Benevolent Fund. Last year was very successful with my predecessor SSgt Harrison setting the bar high, raising over £8,000.
In closing my rst 7 months in post have been fantastic and are exactly the reason why I transferred from 2PWRR into the RAPTC. We have a busy year ahead with AT expeditions, the Commanding Of cer’s Challenges which compare to the ASPT ag competitions. We also have the annual charity boxing Gala

to look forward to with the boxing commencing full time in Feb 16. I’m looking forward to the summer ahead and training the Regiment on the beaches of Thorney Island.
36 ENGINEER REGIMENT & THE QUEEN’S GURKHA ENGINEERS
‘Hit the Ground Running’
On my arrival at 36 Engr Regt in July 2015, I was literally blown away by the level of enthusiasm for Sport and P.T shown by the Unit. In the relatively short space of time I have been at 36 Engr Regt it is clear to see that there is a culture of PT embedded within the heart of the Unit. This is not only refreshing to see but also to be an integral part of.
The Regiment comprises of 5 Squadrons, 4 based in Maidstone, Kent and 1 in Woodbridge, Suffolk. With close to 800 personnel making up the Regiment, it is one of the largest Regiments in the Army, and quite possibly one of the busiest, although what RAPTCI doesn’t say that now days!?
