35 ENGINEER REGIMENT
WO2 (QMSI) D Moss RAPTC
Ihave been the RAPTCI at 35 Engineer Regiment (35 Engr Regt) for the last 7 months, this time has own by with
the fast pace of an Armoured Engineer Regiment on their training year. This is my Fourth post as an RAPTCI and I was asked whilst in post at 4 SCOTS The Highlanders if I would consider the post as Barker Barracks lead RAPTCI with 35 Engr Regt which I grasped with both hands.

Since arriving at the Queen’s Royal Hussars it has been busy for the unit, with over 60% of the Regiment deploying to Canada and RAAT tasking’s. 2016 will be the units’ training
year, which means that tness and cohesion for the Regiment remains as important as ever.
The main aim for 2016 is to encourage the Regiment to get involved more in the Physical Development (PD) programme, which will consist of core strength and functional movement, high intensity exercise and recovery periods (which will allow the body to recuperate and return to a non – stressed condition).
I am pleased to say that within the last 6 months we have had a number of sporting successes within the various competitions we have competed in as a Regiment; the inter-unit BA(G) Cross Country League races and the BA(G) Basketball League competition are just a couple of examples of our sporting talent. The Regiment won their rst two BA(G) Basketball League competitions and positioned in the top three in the BA(G) Cross

Country League. This was a massive achievement especially when - as mentioned in the previous paragraph - the Regiment is going through such a busy period. Winning two basketball league games and placing within the top three in the Cross Country League races is something to be proud of!
Whilst the BA(G) competitions continue to happen, the Regiment will also be involved in the Duke Of Edinburgh’s Competition. The ve squadrons will compete in 8 different activities over a four month period. These activities will help the individuals bond within their squadrons, and will give the chain of command a great chance to see the strengths and weaknesses of their soldiers.
The Queen’s Royal Hussars have performed very well in all their sporting events so far this year. This can be put down to the skill, enthusiasm and determination of the Regiment as a whole - leading to high hopes for next season. The Regiment is looking forward to winning more trophies to add to our ever growing collection!
