My role in support of 160 Brigade SO3 PD, involves me conducting Brigade PT sessions, managing
the two small  tness facilities we have here on camp, assisting, advising and leasing with Units in our AOR as well as delivering ETL, OCS and ARTAS courses for Units by demand. I have also initiated a weekly brigade challenge that has seen a huge increase in the interest of physical activity for both military and civilian members of staff. I was also lucky enough to secure a place on Ex DRAGON SNOW IV, which was the  rst of two ski expeditions that the Brigade is facilitating this year. Dragon Snow IV took place in Waidring, Austria in January of this year. This was the fourth successive skiing trip run from Brecon and has seen many brigade personnel develop from complete novices to highly competent skiers gaining quali cations in the JSAT scheme.

This is my second year with 1 Ri es and the pace of life as proved to be just as busy as the  rst, with the Battalion being deployed as observer mentors to Kazakstan, Ukraine, Latvia and are with a Company currently deployed on their second rotation of OP Shader. The photographs show some of the Company staff undertaking PDT.
This hasn’t stopped the Battalion from taking part in various sporting events, mainly cycling. This year alone 1 Ri es have successfully achieved the following:

Inter-Services Time Trial 3rd
National 2 day Stage Race (Home Valley) (Ind Winner)
4th Place National Masters (Ind)
12th Place in the UK for 12hr 100 mile and 50 mile Time Trial (Ind)

Brigade Headquarters have been involved in over the past few months. I organised a team building day in February at Cradoc Golf Club. This event was supported by members of staff both past and present and proved to be a great success in encouraging non-golfers to take part

in a Texas Scramble competition. The Brigade Headquarters’ own 4 golf tags for the 18 hole course in Cradoc and my aim as the Brigade and Army Golf Secretary is to encourage more individuals to take up golf or make better use of the golf tags.

Squadron with a speci c training directive which supports their own requirements to their Brigades. For example the Airborne contingent of 226 Signal Squadron, who are in direct support of 16 AA Bde providing the Light Electronic Warfare
