the costs. The stipulations to obtain £50 from the Regimental Association towards an AT Ex are very straightforward, simply apply to the Association and produce pictures and article in the MBS. (Please see below (tick, tick!!)
The main role of the SMI LONDIST as the tour is unfolding is to keep abreast of everything and anything that is churned by the machines that are HQ RAPTC (mainly Capt (MAA) Bareham!), ASPT, RC (S), Corp SM, staying atop of a busy sports calendar, chasing up the RAPTCIs for returns on all PD matters, running MATT 2 for the HQ and collecting stats for all LONDIST Units, being the SME on all health matters and when the time comes and Obie One allows I will be out assisting on PDIs! Hopefully soon my
AT background will assist this role and I will be able to abseil out of the window to save a minute or two each day and remember the good old days! A busy post within a busy district, all set in the centre of London, a million miles away from teaching on Tryfan or in the caves of Al Gin!
A mention to our Army Reserve support WO2 (QMSI) Kenny Pitcairn former SMI LONDIST who has been invaluable not only to the Reserve Units that he covers for PD but also to this Of ce. Thanks Kenny! WO2 (QMSI) Will McLay is now a member of the Army Reserve working with 1ISR and nds the time to assist the District where he can, thanks Will.

My nal year serving with the 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards has been eventful and busy. The
early part of 2015 focused with continuing the normal day to day running of the Gymnasium, Company and Commanding Of cer’s PT. It was our aspiration to enter a team into the Army Individual Boxing Competition. After 6 weeks of training we entered a small squad of 6 boxers of various weights. The competition formed up with 104 boxers from different units across the Army.
The Grenadier Guards have had a successful run of boxers especially LCpl Natty Nywenya who was beaten in the ABA National nals becoming the English silver medallist in the Super Heavyweight division in 2015. A Regimental boxer who has gone onto achieving trials for GB

he has a fantastic career ahead of him. From the 6 boxers that entered the Army individuals and some fantastic bouts we were fortunate to have 4 nalists. Some of the results did not go in our favour and we had 1 victory, Gdsm Charters winning the Bantam weight nal, with the other 3 boxers losing by close decisions.
My next focus was to train the Battalion in preparation for EX ASKARI THUNDER a CT3 training exercise in Kenya. The t for role test that was implemented was OFT 6 but felt more like OFT 7 after deciding to conduct this in Sennybridge! With a high pass rate the unit were in a t state to attack the Ex AT 15. It was my second deployment to Kenya and my role was the Adventurous Training Of cer. After a good structured plan and early liaison with WO2 (QMSI) Stu Mann we managed
