Thrapston Entertains ..................................................................
He’s behind you!!!! Oh no he isn’t, it’s... Thrapston Dreamers
If you’re looking for laughs, songs and dance routines to see off the winter blues, then
look no further than this month’s Thrapston pantomime show - and there are still some tickets remaining for Thrapston Dreamers’ production of “Jack and the Beanstalk”. About 50 talented young people, working onstage and backstage, will be taking to the stage of The Plaza on Friday, 15th February and Saturday, 16th February - and they’d appreciate your support!
Join the Dreamers’ audience and you’ll find the traditional story of Jack as he
discovers the secrets at the top of the mysterious beanstalk, told with stage-filling dance routines and the Dreamers’ own
take on some modern song classics. The show will be the fourth pantomime that the Dreamers team has brought to the stage, and - for the first time - the cast will be made up entirely of children and young people.
Tickets, at £6 each, are now available from Luke Williams Luxury Hair Design
in High Street, Thrapston. There’s more information about Dreamers at their website at www.thrapstondreamers.com
Nine years on and Thrapston Plaza Opera entertains all!
Thrapston Plaza Opera was established in 2010 to present Opera in the Plaza Centre, Cosy Nook, Thrapston, a friendly company that has a strong nucleus of local singers. Experienced singers from further afield audition for principal roles and young professional singers at the beginning of their singing careers often gain experience in supporting roles. Chorus rehearsals take place on Tuesday evenings from 7.30 – 9.30pm in St. James’ Sunday School Hall.
Founded by Vincent Davy, Thrapston based experienced musician and retired teacher, TPO aims to encourage members of the local community and beyond to experience the fun and thrill of performing popular opera with a live pit orchestra
for audiences to enjoy in English at an accessible price! Singers are welcome to join TPO for the duration of just one opera and there is no audition for chorus members. Many singers, however, have been Company members since the very start!
Building on the initial success of ‘Carmen’ in February 2011 TPO has gone on to present ‘The Bartered Bride’, ‘Aida’, ‘Die Fledermaus’, ‘Madame Butterfly’, ‘La Vie Parisienne’, ‘Eugene Onégin’ and last year ‘La Traviata’, with most performances being sold out.
