 CLASSES OF FIRE (A – C)
• CLASS A
These are fires involving solid material. The normal method of fire extinction for this class of fire is cooling using water in the form of a jet or spray
• CLASS B
These are fires that involve flammable liquids or liquefiable solids. The normal method of fire extinction is smothering using foam, dry powder, CO2 or a fire blanket
• CLASS C
These are fires that involve gases. Any fire that involves gas must not be extinguished until the supply has been cut off or the leak sealed
