CLASSES OF FIRE (D – F)
• CLASS D
These are fires that involve metals. Extinguishing agents that contain water are not effective on such fires and may even be dangerous if applied. Dry graphite, powdered talc or dry sand are normally suitable for these fires
• Electrical fires
Fires that involve live electrical equipment are to be extinguished with an appropriate extinguisher e.g. CO2. Never use water or foam on an electrical fire
• CLASS F
Fires involving cooking oils and fat
