100 Reflections that Crafted Geneva International

Земля злосчастная моя".

Могу лишь добавить от себя, что научно-технический прогресс на
нашей планете, помноженный на духовные и моральные ценности ее
обитателей, позволит создать новое глобальное общество, демократичное
и справедливое во всех отношениях.

It takes many thousands of stones to make a building of great
stature. Think how many thousands, perhaps millions it must have taken to
build the Taj Mahal, The Hermitage, the Empire State Building - or even the
Palais des Nations, here in Geneva. Every stone, every brick, every tile, every
slate has a part to play in holding the whole thing together. And so it is with all
of you as you finish your school days and begin your adult lives. You too have
significant parts to play and contributions to make. The Roman philosopher,
Seneca, once wrote that “We were born to live together and our society is like
an arch which stands precisely because the stones prevent one another from
falling."

Go well. Good luck in all the many choices you are about to make. And do
whatever you can, whenever you can, to “prevent one another from falling.”
