MUSIC BRINGS JOY
By Odette FOUDRAL
I was in the office when I heard the wonderful sound of violin.
I found the source of the music and I was privileged to watch a young violinist,
entranced by her love of music, dancing to the sound of her violin. It was Pearl Lüthy
(see photo).
Nothing surprising, you might say...
This young girl was celebrating Down's Syndrome Day, which for a long time kept some
children away from a normal life, a life where joy should take precedence over all other
considerations.
It always takes a great deal of help and self-sacrifice for children with Down's syndrome
to have a normal life, which is why we must support the efforts of associations such as
ART21.

I had a chat with the President of this association, and I said to her:
"In a way, we can draw a parallel with the lives of senior citizens... they are also
different and we often make them feel that way".
To this, she answered:
"I agree with you. In the end, every human being is different and at the same time
unique, and it's in our hands to ensure that such a difference finds its rightful place on
this earth".
