perhaps climbed 1000 meters, which was a total of about 1800-1900 meters (the
altitude of the tunnel I had walked through the day before). And then I saw the most
incredible thing - one room after the other, seven high levels, with the upper floor as
high as several normal floors. How can I describe it? If you imagine our building E
(height), but twice as wide - these are the approximate dimensions of this giant power
plant, and all this was built inside the mountain, as if «hidden» in it, rising from the initial
altitude of 1800-1900 meters to underneath the Muttsee dam (which is at 2500 meters
altitude). So, I was just underneath the inside of this highest dam, and the monitors
showed the exact location. It was a breathtaking and overwhelming feeling.

It is difficult to describe all I saw in this short article, and I took almost 500 photos. What
I can say – is that this is totally beyond imagination. It is not only “have to see to believe
it”, it is to feel, and it is even much more.

If you decide to dare this journey and especially the hike (or at least, only the guided
tour) – you will be amazed. It may be the real energy solution for the future in the
mountain countries, collecting energy and using or building dams wisely and intelligently
(and also in an innovative manner) to ensure clean and sustainable energy production.

The organization supports developing countries to navigate the
changing global economy and address evolving trade and

            development challenges.

More than 60 years on, UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) continues to stand as a
beacon of support for developing nations.
In 1964, the United Nations General Assembly through its resolution 1995 (XIX)
established UNCTAD as a permanent intergovernmental body.

UNCTAD came about at a pivotal moment in global economic history, characterized by
decolonization, the breakdown of the Bretton Woods system and the dawn of rapid
            technological advancements.
