singular or plural, concrete or abstract.
Nouns show possession by adding 's. Nouns
can function in different roles within a
sentence; for example, a noun can be a
subject, direct object, indirect object, subject
complement, or object of a preposition.
Nouns have several types, including:
1) Countable Nouns
These types of nouns can be counted.
Example: table, car, chair, man,
hospital, midwife, wheelchair, etc
2) Uncountable Nouns
These types of nouns can't be counted
Example: water, sugar, butter, dust,
coffee, bread, etc.
There are a number of nouns, including :
1) Singular Nouns
A singular noun with the article a/an.
Example: a book, an apple, a box.
3
