Soroka's Emergency Department is the largest and
most active in Israel and treats a quarter of a million
patients every year. According to the reports of the
Israeli Ministry of Health, Soroka’s ED ranks first among
the large hospitals in minimal duration of stay and
maximal quality of treatment.

Soroka’s Trauma Unit is one of the busiest in Israel, with
complete Level 1 trauma capabilities second to none.
Our clinical results rank highest in the country.

Soroka serves as the main trauma treatment center for
the Israel Defense Forces in the Negev and along the
Gaza Strip, a role we are called upon to fulfill far too
often. As part of our life-saving mission, our intensive
care units are prepared to care for the victims of the
most complex traumas and support them on their road
to rehabilitation and recovery.

We are currently carrying out a large-scale project to
increase the area of the ED by approximately fifty
percent, with the addition of forty-two treatment
stations and two additional trauma stations.
