   Data/Communications Project Team Update
2018 - 2020 MFB Strategic Business Plan
 Board Priorities
1. Effectively communicate with regular members.
2. Engage more regular members by understanding their needs, values and effectively communicating the value of belonging to Farm Bureau.
3. Expand revenue opportunities by exploring services of value to current and potential members.
 Goals
1. By September 1, 2020, we will collect demographic information on more than 75% of our regular members and use the data to engage more than 20% of regular members in the organization in some actionable way.
2. By November 29, 2019, we will have celebrated our centennial with over 5,000 members through great events, publications and special efforts.
3. By December 31, 2020, MFB regular member retention will exceed 96%.

2017 2019
  • Worked with MFB Staff through retreat, survey and dedicated All-Staff meeting to develop and prioritize goals.
• Worked with Project Office to develop an RFP for the development of a MFB data roadmap. Interviewed potential partners and selected Association Laboratory.
2018
• Worked with Association Laboratory to create roadmap/ blueprint through interviews and data gathering.
• Prioritized roadmap projects. Selected updating marketing plan, auditing current communications and YF Data Collection project.
• Began cataloguing marketing initiatives in Family of Companies.
• Initiated RFP for Communications Audit/LEAN evaluation.
• Worked with State YF committee to develop and implement YF data collection project.
• Engaged the FBI Data Governance Committee.
• Reviewed progress toward demographic goal.
• Communications cataloging and LEAN process initiated.
• YF Data Collection Project completed and data provided to State YF Committee. Presented to the MFB Board in November. 837 surveys completed by YF members representing 42% of Young Farmers.
• Discussed Aimpoint Data collection Project. Received cost estimate of $50K for Michigan. Have not moved forward at this time.
2020
• Completing Communications LEAN Process.
• Participating in CRM/Salesforce discussions and
replacement of iMIS.
• Continued review of demographic data collected.
• Development of cross-company campaign to increase number of viable cell phone numbers, emails and home addresses for members.
