RE: U18 AAA Central Region Championships
Dear Windsor AAA Zone Board of Directors:
I wish to congratulate you and the Windsor AAA Zone for your successful bid to host the U18
AAA Central Region Championships at Central Park Athletics in the City of Windsor. An elite
hockey tournament such as the Central Region Championships helps unite our community,
build civic pride, attract new visitors and provide our youngest residents with positive role
models and memories to last a lifetime. I sincerely thank Windsor AAA Zone for taking the lead
on successful efforts to attract this competition to Central Park Athletics.
Windsor is a ‘hockey town’. The sport is in our DNA. Our community embraces hockey and
enthusiastically rallies behind our players. We recognize that sports help youth develop lifelong
skills for success – leadership, teamwork, self-confidence, resiliency, good sportsmanship and
many other qualities and abilities that help them thrive. Young people in Windsor pay attention
to the calibre of athletes who arrive for these prestigious events. They see first-hand what can
be achieved through hard work and a commitment to excellence, whether it be in sport or
anything else they set their minds to.
Our city is fortunate to be the home of both the Windsor AAA Zone and Central Park Athletics,
which each exist for the singular purpose of bringing out the best in residents of all ages. We
look forward to welcoming players, coaches, volunteers and supporters to the U18 AAA Central
Region Championships and are confident the event will be a great success.
Sincerely,
Drew Dilkens
