Dual Credit
KNOX CHURCH STRATFORD LOCATION
This Dual Credit package is helping students find their passion for a culinary profession and helping them in their daily life.
Avon Maitland District School Board have 17 students who are provided a professional chef whites uniform and are transported, at no expense to the student, every Monday from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm to Knox Church kitchen in Stratford to participate in the Culinary Dual Credit. Students are provided transportation to and from AMDSB secondary schools: Central Huron Clinton, St. Marys DCVI, Listowel District and Stratford Secondary and Elementary School.
The program is taught by college instructors, industry professionals and part time college students. These students are extremely committed to a 15 week program with Conestoga College Chef Jody O’Malley. Jody is very active in the hospitality industry and has extensive experience. She co-owns a popular and successful Waterloo-based catering business, in addition to her college instruction.
Students begin the Culinary program with a course in Safe Food Handling from the Waterloo Board of Health. This certification includes an exam with a 70% passing rate. After this accomplishment students receive a personalized
