If you have a Fortigate or Pulse Secure SSL VPN appliance you should
patch them immediately. There is an active campaign underway to

leverage recently discovered exploits. Over the past 36 hours, hackers
have started spraying the Internet with code that attempts to take
advantage of exploits before administrators can patch systems. If you
have either of these systems, consider patching them immediately.

Microsoft, Facebook and PayPal are the top three spoofed email

sources. Microsoft remains the biggest brand copied by phishing
attacks, with the number of unique malicious URLs in emails claiming to
be from Microsoft up by 15.5% compared with last year. Each of the
three companies provides attackers with access to different data –
business information, social contacts and financial data are all at risk,

especially at attacks increase globally. During the most recent quarter,
the average percentage of spam in global mail traffic hit 57.6%, up 1.67
percentage points from the previous year's quarter. The largest share of

spam was seen in May at 58.7%. Worldwide, China was the biggest
source of spam at 23.7%, followed by the US at 13.8%, Russia at 4.8%,
and Brazil at 4.6%. For the quarter, Kaspersky detected a total of 43.9
           million malicious email attachments.

Experts are advising users to turn off blue tooth where possible. Your

Bluetooth connection is unsafe. Very unsafe. That’s the message from
the largest hacker convention. It's bad enough that attendees at the
hacker convention DEF CON are advising to turn it off when not in use,
as noted in reports from Security Boulevard and Mashable.

If you aren’t yet prepared for upgrading your Windows 7 system to

Windows 10, you are in luck. If you are an EA or ESA subscriber, you can
get an additional year of support. The idea, says Microsoft, is to allow
businesses a bit more time to iron out their plans for migrating to 3
Windows 10 from Windows 7 when official support for the later ends on
           January 14th, 2020.
