GROWING PAINS ADAM CHACIN
Bleakness before beauty. Darkness before light.
Oh tell me truly, majestic tree Grow you tired of such plight?
Merciless winds push, you bend
You continue to prostrate your arms—expend. Yet despite branches withered and gray,
I will leave one day soon, while you shall stay.
Perhaps the rousing riddle holds no mystery Let the burdens fall—making them history. Spread your arms wide, there is a new dawn. Begin again, your problems gone.
