COVER ART - Painting by Amy Sherald.
Former First Lady Michelle Obama is depicted as poised and confident by Baltimore-based Amy Sherald, who the Smithsonian Institution notes is an artist known for “her stylized, archetypal portrayals
of African Americans.” The painting now hangs in the National Portrait Gallery in Washington. Oil on linen.
