70 1 persons is often desirable, but we let God be the final
70 2 judge. We realize that some people are as fanatical
70 3 about sex as others are loose. We avoid hysterical
70 4 thinking or advice.
70 5 Suppose we fall short of the chosen ideal and
70 6 stumble? Does this mean we are going to get drunk?
70 7 Some people tell us so. But this is only a half-truth.
70 8 It depends on us and on our motives. If we are sorry
70 9 for what we have done, and have the honest desire to
70 10 let God take us to better things, we believe we will be
70 11 forgiven and will have learned our lesson. If we are
70 12 not sorry, and our conduct continues to harm others,
70 13 we are quite sure to drink. We are not theorizing.
70 14 These are facts out of our experience.
70 15 To sum up about sex: We earnestly pray for the
70 16 right ideal, for guidance in each questionable situa-
70 17 tion, for sanity, and for the strength to do the right
70 18 thing. If sex is very troublesome, we throw ourselves
70 19 the harder into helping others. We think of their
70 20 needs and work for them. This takes us out of our-
70 21 selves. It quiets the imperious urge, when to yield
70 22 would mean heartache.
