                                                                                                        (A great devotee of Swamy)
Brother Satia strongly believes that he is living because of Swamy’s grace. He knocked this adamant
belief into my head like a nail being knocked into the wall several times during this interview. As

education only dragged this simple man up to form 4 of the local education system, he could hardly speak
in English (which he admitted with modesty but claimed that he speaks excellent three Chinese dialects).

Thus, I am compelled to translate his narration from Tamil to English.

Brother Satia met Swamy for the first time when he was 12 years old,

but because of his ‘big fat ego’, he was not aware of Swamy’s glory.
However, a turning point took place in his life after meeting Swamy.

Brother Satia narrated an unbelievable incident that took place in
1982. Once brother Satia followed Swamy to Sekolah Menengah Ulu

Tiram Johore, (Swamy’s working place) to give him a helping hand.
Since on that particular day, brother Satia did not take his breakfast,

and the work was tough though, his stomach started to croak. As he
couldn’t stand the hunger, with Swamy’s permission, he jumped on

Swamy’s motorcycle, and went to hunt for vegetarian lunch. But
Swamy worked as a gardener at before he left, he locked the main front gate of the school and
                         this school.
                                                 retained the keys.

Since it was a Sunday, most of the restaurants were closed and those
which were open only sold non-vegetarian food. With a heavy heart

and empty stomach, he returned to the school and conveyed the sad
news to Swamy. He then inquired swamy if anyone had come from

home to send food but was disappointed to find no one had come. He
requested Swamy if he can go back and have his lunch but Swamy

persuaded him to stay on for a while to finish up the work. Swamy
promised him that he would get and exclusive lunch with ‘Vadai’ and

         ‘payasam’.

A beautiful photograph of Swamy (Right) with Bro Satia (Left)
While on the verge of fainting, again brother Satia complained to Swamy that he was extremely hungry
and Swamy comforted him to hold on. He was defeated with hunger that blocked his ears. Brother Satia

pondered on what Swamy promised and pleased himself with the assurance, but his instincts somehow
kept asking him Swamy would give him the lunch as promised.
