What is fasting?









              Now I know what you are thinking what is fasting? Fasting is

              when going without solids for a short or long period of time.

              Most fasts usually last 24 to 72 hours, and some even longer. I

              know what you are thinking, why would I want to go without

              solids for  days? That  would be torture  and starving  myself.

              The difference between starving and fasting is one is voluntary,

              and the other is not. My terminology in life is longevity, so a

              fast for me would last from 24 to 48 hours. Fasting for me is a

              lifestyle. I fast once a week. The reason why is because I want

              to give my digestive system a break to rest. When you fast, you

              give your body a chance to heal itself. The body is a self-healing

              mechanism, so it’s always trying to fix and repair things within

              the body. When you don’t consume solids, it gets happy so it can

              get its job done without interruptions of trying to break down

              and digest food. Some benefits of fasting are that it boosts the

              immune system, promotes weight loss, reduces inflammation,

              removes mucus within the body, etc. Fasting has been around

              since ancient and biblical times. People fast for different reasons
