There Is/There Are
a. Usage of There Is/There Are
It is meant to indicate the existence of
objects and people. To express this, we usually
use “ada” in Indonesian. For objects or people
that are singular in number, “there is” is used.
As for plural or more than one, we use “there
are”.
There is and there are have a Simple Present
Tense sentence pattern.
The use of there is and there are in a
sentence is also usually followed by:
Adjective (kata sifat): long, big, small, red,
square, dan lainnya.
Noun (kata benda): hair, book, bottle,
television, frame, dan lain-lain.
