To request any of the benefits listed below, simply call Matrix Absence Management at (877) 202-0055. As a leader in the industry, they’ll help walk you through the process, tell you if you’re eligible, and provide you with any required documentation.
IBKR Provided Short-Term Disability
As an active full-time employee you may be eligible for Short-Term Disability. Short-Term Disability is available if you are deemed disabled, both prior to your delivery date and after your delivery. Note, any benefits payable under the Short-Term Disability plans will coordinate with benefits payable under your Paid Parental Leave and will be treated as an offset.
Benefits begin on the 1st day of injury, or 8th day of illness. Short-Term Disability provides 6 weeks of 100% salary continuance, followed by 19 weeks of 60% income replacement up to a $1,500 weekly maximum.
Am I Eligible?
To qualify for either leave, employees must:
• Have been employed with the company for at least 12 consecutive months prior to the birth or adoption of the child.
• Have worked at least 1,250 hours during the 12 consecutive months preceding the date the leave would begin.
• Be a full-time, regular employee (part-time, temporary employees, and interns are not eligible for this benefit) for at least 12 consecutive months prior to birth or adoption of the child.
Family Medical Leave Act
FMLA is leave designed to help employees take reasonable unpaid leave for certain family and medical reasons. Such reasons include:
• The birth and care of the newborn child of an employee;
• Placement with the employee of a child for adoption or foster care;
• Caring for an immediate family member (spouse, child, or parent) with a serious health condition; or
• Medical leave when the employee is unable to work because of a serious health condition.
FMLA provides eligible employees with up to 12 weeks (16 weeks in CT) of unpaid, job protected leave per year and usually runs concurrent with other types of time off.
Am I Eligible?
Employees are eligible for leave if they have worked for their employer at least 12 months and worked at least 1,250 hours over the past 12 months.
Local State Leaves
If you are in a state with mandated benefits, you may be eligible for additional paid and unpaid benefits, as well as job protected leave. These leaves will coordinate with IBKR’s plans and may be treated as offsets.
PFL/PML will run concurrently with leave under the FMLA and IBKR’s Parental Leave policy where permitted by law. The Matrix Absence Management Team will guide you through the process of which applies to you.
