Income During A Disability (Non Union Employees)
When you file your leave with the Standard Insurance Company, they will also evaluate your eligibility for continued income under the Bridge Pay program.
The Ventura Foods bridge pay program is a Short-Term Disability (STD) insurance that provides income if you become disabled due to an injury or illness. Once eligible, benefits begin after your sick and vacation days are exhausted and can continue for up to 90 days. Based on your current salary and years of service, the plan covers the gap between the time you have used up for sick time and vacation days and the time when Long-Term Disability kicks in.
All full-time, regular employees who become disabled due to a non-work related illness or injury are eligible for Bridge Pay. You qualify for Bridge Pay based on your current base salary as follows:

At the time of disability if you are enrolled in benefits, your benefit costs will be deducted from sick, vacation and bridge pay automatically so that you may continue benefits while on leave. If you are out of sick, vacation and bridge pay you may continue benefits by following the instructions outlined in the next section.
 Union Employees
If you are a union employee, you will need to contact your local HR to determine if there are any union specific related union disability benefits you are eligible for. The Standard Insurance Company does not administer union related leave programs or union disability benefits.
