Grilled Jalapeno Peppers with
Cream Cheese and Bacon
If you are a fan of Jalapeno peppers, cream cheese and bacon, this combination
is a showstopper. We enjoy our fresh-grown garden peppers, although store
bought are fine. Skillet grilling works well but is bettered by outdoor barbeque.
This explosive flavor dish has the pepper spice of Jalapeno seduced by cream
cheese and cleverly accented by the bacon. Consider pairing with a dry white
wine made from Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio grapes. For reds, a
wine made from Zinfandel, Syrah/Shiraz, Malbec or Grenache grapes.
12 Jalapeno peppers
Chive and Onion Soft Cream Cheese
6 pieces of bacon
Garlic Powder
Freshly ground black pepper
Preheat grill. Cut Jalapeno peppers in half lengthwise (leave stem
on) and scoop out seeds.
Fill each half with cream cheese, then wrap a half-piece of bacon
around each and secure with a toothpick.
Sprinkle with garlic powder and freshly ground black pepper.
Place on grill for 10 minutes, turn over and cook another 10
minutes or until bacon is cooked through.
