Lack of faith in peers
Noble Jacob
(Roll No. 306)
I believe this topic is crucial for every peer and coming
generation, as my views have led me into this topic: “Lack
of faith in peers and coming generations”. Nowadays,
many people have changed their faith, beliefs, behavior
and attitudes toward others, such as judging others on
their looks. To be specific, the question here is
“Why is there a lack of faith among peers?”
There is no justification if we do not spare at least a minute each day to thank God for
giving us our daily lives, as there’s a saying “Every day we see is a gift from God.” Religious
practices such as reading the Bible, singing songs and praying are hardly seen in some
younger generations, as some believe it is not beneficial to them. A few instances are:
Misleading friendship is one cause of lack in faith. Many of few youngsters get connected
with friends who live life as they wish without any faith or beliefs. Some of these peers
are abided by through their lifestyle. They easily lack faith by following them. Similarly,
some teens or youths fall into trouble by associating with people who indulge in crimes
and mischievous acts. Youths who follow them not only lack faith but are also torn apart
from the society.
Secondly, “Parents are the first teachers to lead their kids towards faith”. Children during
their growing years follow their parent’s footsteps such as their actions and what they
do daily. More or less parents spend time working for their day to day lives more than
spending time with children without knowing what they do. They might lack time to
teach children to walk in faith. This inattentiveness can lead children to lack faith and
engage in mischievous acts, especially when they grow up to be teens. Therefore it is
crucial for parents to instill in their children the importance of prayer and faith.
What does the Bible show about “Lack of faith?”
The Bible offers numerous examples of individuals who lacked faith, including Moses
doubt about leading the Israelites, the Israelites repeatedly questioning God’s plan,
Naaman’s disbelief in his healing and Thomas insistence on seeing Jesus.
Moses, despite being chosen by God to lead the Israelites out of Egypt repeatedly
expressed a lack of faith, questioning his ability and asking God to send someone else.
“Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never eloquent, neither in the part nor since you have
spoken to your servant. I’m slow of your speech and tongue” Exodus 4:11
