2020 Bylaws Review
The Bylaws Committee is not recommending, and the Board of Directors is not proposing, any
amendments to the bylaws at the 2020 annual business meeting. As requested by the AMT Board of
Directors, the Bylaws Committee is currently conducting a comprehensive review of the entire National
Bylaws document and suggesting revisions. The goal of the committee’s exercise is to modernize and
streamline the Bylaws in places that they are outdated, unduly prescriptive, or otherwise not in keeping
with best practices of similar non-profit membership organizations. In addition to the Board’s
appointment of the standing committee last October, the committee has added two medical assistants,
Vanessa Austin, RMA and Alice Macomber, RMA to allow an even representation between the major
disciplines. We are seeking input from AMT executive staff and will also review input from the state
society ad-hoc committee. The committee will strive to meet the following schedule which is subject to
change due to the national COVID-19 situation.
