It’s a privilege for us to come together to celebrate 50 years of
contributions to nursing education. We’re here together because of
a shared belief that nursing is one of the most valuable and
rewarding professions on Earth! Our highly respected School of
Nursing, Health, and Exercise Science has an impressive track
record when it comes to preparing practitioners and leaders, and
it’s exciting to watch the school grow as well. Everyone here adds
value to this celebration by sharing their warmth, rich experiences,
and generosity, which are the prime qualities of any worthwhile
celebration. As such, we appreciate everyone making time to help
make this half-century celebration a success. As you celebrate this
weekend, connect as deeply as possible with fellow TCNJ
colleagues. You may see old friends or perhaps make new
connections. Either way, I believe we can all learn from one
another as we celebrate.
The education and experiences we received during our years at
TCNJ have fostered within us a commitment to excellence in
practice, education, research, scholarship, and community
engagement. Because of the supportive and encouraging faculty
and staff, together, we have advanced nursing and healthcare over
the decades, serving in various roles while making significant
contributions to the profession on a scale from the local to the
global. These contributions continue to improve healthcare and the
lives of so many. None of this would be possible without an
education that empowered us to dream big and cultivated a passion
for lifelong learning.
I’m proud to celebrate our rich and always-growing history with
you and look forward to supporting a new generation of leaders
who will continue to shape the future of healthcare and improve
the health and well-being of individuals, families, and
communities.
