acting out.

Story – Reality Show

Dana: Shira, I want to ask you something, but tell me the truth.
Shira: Okay. I’ll only tell you the truth.

Dana: Good. I want to take part in a reality show. What do you say?

Shira: To take part in a reality show? In which reality show?
Dana: Hmm… I don’t know. Maybe on ‘Master Chef’? Yes, on Master Chef: I’ll

cook and everyone would eat my food – on TV!
Shira: Hmm… I don’t know, Dana. I’m not sure that everyone would eat your

food. You don’t know (how) to cook, remember?
Dana: Yeah, right. I really don’t know (how) to cook. Okay, so maybe on ‘Big

Brother’?

Shira: 'Big Brother'? no way, Dana! You are so nice and na?ve. The people on
'Big

Brother' will beat you easily (lit. will eat you without salt).
Dana: Okay, so… maybe on ‘American Idol’? Yes, I think I want to take part in

‘American Idol’. I love to sing so much, and I will surely love to sing with
the musicians of ‘American Idol’.
Shira: Yes, you will surely love to sing with the musicians of ‘American Idol’, but
I’m not sure that the musicians will love to hear you… You see
[understand], Dana, you don’t really know (how) to sing.
Dana: Shira, really! You say that I’m na?ve, that I can’t sing, that I can’t cook…
maybe you should say something nice to me?
Shira: I don’t understand, Dana, why are you angry? You don’t want me to tell
you the truth?
Dana: yes, I want you to tell me the truth. But only fun truth, that’s fun to hear.
