How does one choose a name for a child? The name of Nachalat
Binyamin is an interesting question. The ones who establish Nachalat
Binyamin decide to call the neighborhood “Binyamin” after a man
who can give money to build the neighborhood.
So who is Binyamin? This question can have two answers: If the
Jewish National Fund (JNF) gives money to build the neighborhood,
the street is named after Binyamin Ze’ev Herzl. If the Baron Binyamin
Edmond De Rothschild gives money, the neighborhood is named after
him. In the end no one gives money to the neighborhood, so the name
of the neighborhood is after the tribe of Binyamin.
For many years people know Nachalat Binyamin street because of
many textile stores that are on it. Over the years (they) close textile
stores and open many coffee shops, but until today, if you like fashion
and textile- Nachalat Binyamin is the place for you.
