Rest in Peace Haim Gouri
Haim Gouri passed away at the age of ninety four. Haim Gouri is a poet of
the generation that built the state of Israel. He was a fighter in the Palmach
and received the Israel Prize. He was an educator, born in Tel Aviv, but
lived in Jerusalem his whole life. Many of his poems became an important
part of Israeli culture because they tell the memories of an entire country.
Even though many of his poems are songs of war, his friends tell that he
was a man of peace who loved the state of Israel very much. Haim Gouri
left behind a wife, three daughters, grandsons and granddaughters.
