                                      Item #3 (Low-Intermediate Level)

                         Too Old to Work

Shira Heiman has a daughter, a girl with special needs. Shira’s daughter
needs an integrator in order to go to school, and Shira looks for a good
integrator with lots of experience and energy. Elisheva Bi’el is seventy
three years old, she (has been) working with children (for) many years and
she wants to be Shira’s daughter’s integrator. But at the Hod HaSharon
municipality (they) don’t let the school hire Elisheva for the job, because
they say she’s too old. The law says that (you) don’t hire new employees
over the age of sixty seven. Elisheva says that she doesn’t feel old, and that
age is just a number.
