The “Sliks” Pavilion

“Slik” is a nickname for the underground hiding place for
weapons and secret documents. The word "slik" came into wide
use in the period before the foundation of the state (of Israel),
during the British mandate rule. At that time, the "Hagana"
organization built sliks in many places in Israel, in order to
supply weapons for the protection of the different settling spots
that were scattered all over the land. Therefore, in this pavilion
it's possible to find many things that were used as sliks – tanks,
tables, a fridge and even a car!

Before the declaration of the foundation of the state (of Israel) in
1948, it was forbidden for organizations to hold weapons, and so
(they) kept the weapons secretly. Many tricks were found in order
to hide the weapons, and it's possible to find them in this room.
Here are some unique examples: a pistol in a book, a bomb
inside a milk jug, a gun inside a compressor and more. Today,
the IDF has no need to hide the weapons, but if you (pl.) would
like to, in a different pavilion (pavilion 16) it's possible to see
who does hide weapons today, and through which methods is it
done.
