Act Out 24
Daniel: Wow, what a line!
Uncle Nati: Ya, it’s Thursday today. Everybody is shopping for Shabbat.
Uncle Nati: Oh boy, here it starts.
Daniel: What starts?
Uncle Nati: The phone calls.
Uncle Nati: Hello?
Aunt Ruthie: Natti? Are you still at the supermarket, sweetie?
Uncle Nati: I’m already at the cash register. Why?
Aunt Ruthie: Oh… I just need one little thing. I want to make a cake for
Shabbat and there’s no flour at home. Is that a problem?
Uncle Nati: No, it’s not a problem. Danny, could you bring (some) flour?
Thank you.
Uncle Nati: Hello?
Tali: Dad, are you still at the supermarket?
Uncle Nati: Yes, but I’m already at the cash. Is it something urgent?
Tali: Yeah, very! I have a big exam tomorrow and I don’t have
chocolate!
Uncle Nati: And that’s urgent? Well, ok. Danny, can you bring (some)
chocolate?
Uncle Nati: Hello?
Gil: Dad, are you still at the supermarket?
Uncle Nati: Yes… What do you want?
Gil: There’s a party in class tomorrow and I need to bring a snack.
Uncle Nati: Why do you only tell (me) now? Well, ok. Danny, can you
bring a snack?
Daniel: Yeah, sure. I’m going to bring everything. Say, is it always like
this? You stand in line and everybody calls?
Uncle Nati: Yes, every week. I don’t understand, why can’t they think about
everything before I go to the supermarket?
Daniel: It’s not the end of the world, this way you [also] go to the
supermarket and also work out [do sport]: from the cash register
to the shelf and from the shelf to the cash register.
Uncle Nati: Yeah, true. I really do work out here. But then I come home and
eat Ruthie’s cake, Tali’s chocolate and Gil’s snack.
