Great Little Things
British Willard Wigan creates the smallest miniature sculptures in history,
using a surgical scalpel. The motorcycle statue he created on the tip of a
hair he shaved off his beard won a Guinness Record for microscopic
sculpting. A pin is his canvas. Wigan’s microscopic sculptures have
become a household name; Wigan, who endured humiliations as a dyslexic
child at school, was in tears as the Queen appointed him a title of British
knighthood. As a rejected child Wigan shut (himself) inside his home, and
discovered by chance that he has amazing abilities when he went out to the
yard to play with the dog. The smallest sculptures in the world exhibition
is displayed at the Sarona compound in Tel Aviv. Wigan believes that his
story can inspire any child that feels a little rejected.
