Who would believe that even during Feingol's
tragic death, the man manages to have a protest be
created.
Yesterday afternoon Omer Feingol passed away,
who was one of the top men in business and was
considered close to the prime minister.
Feingol was badly wounded in a car accident and
several hours later he passed away.
As soon as the notice about the accident and his
passing were heard, responses were sent from the
Prime Minister's offices about their participation in ‫מיד כשנשמע דבר התאונה ופטירתו יצאו‬
the family's grief.
A few minutes after the governmental responses,
organizations working towards the separation of
business and government went out in protest of the
man and his work, and demonstrated outside the
prime minister's house. In the demonstration about
5 rioters were arrested.
Feingol's work aroused many controversies over
the years, the most famous of which is his lack of
willingness to comply with the requirements of the
pharmaceutical factory workers, fearing it will
appear as a weakness and his workers in other
factories will try to make similar moves.
The workers' struggle made waves, and created
public awareness for the factory.
As part of the struggle, it was discovered that the
factory received ownership of the Dead Sea area,
and for some reason it pays only 2% of its
dividends to the state, compared to other factories
that pay 10%.
One of our arrested men told us: "The time has
come for justice to be done and that those who get
arrested will be the politicians and the top
shareholders and not the simple citizen who is
protesting against them.
Feingol never paid his debt and his death does not
cancel the debt and the justice."
The arrested person continued: "It's not enough that
the factories are paying 10%, which indicates
corruption in and of itself, he pays only 2%.
Where has something like this been heard in a
civilized state?!"
