The Holiday of Love
Tonight we’ll celebrate 15 of Av, our holiday of love, so here are a few
data about Israelis on this special day: fifty three thousand seventy nine
couples got married in Israel through licensed religious institutions in the
year two thousand fifteen. Another nine thousand and three hundred
couples chose, or were forced, to get married outside of Israel. The
average age for the grooms – twenty seven and a half. The brides are
younger, an average age of twenty five and two months. But not everyone
chooses to walk down the aisle, the number of single men and women at
the ages of twenty five to twenty nine leaped by tens of percent in recent
decades. The city where you’ll be able to find the most single men and
women is Even Yehuda, followed by Tel Aviv and Kiryat Tiv’on. On the
other end, in the ultra-orthodox cities – Modi’in Illit, Betar Illit and Elad,
you’ll have a very hard time finding single men or women there.
