Story –You Need to Get Married Quickly?
Dad: Matan, Keren says that you work in High-Tech. What exactly do you do in High-
Tech? Are you a manager?
Matan: A manager? No, not at all. G-d willing, one day I’ll progress at my job, but now
I’m only a starting employee.
Dad: You need to progress quickly. If you [will not] don't progress, you won’t get rich!
How much money do you make [get] now?
Keren: Dad! Behave nicely!
Dad: How will I behave nicely? I’m hungry, and when I’m hungry I can’t behave
nicely. Maybe we’ll start eating?
Mom: Please, the food is here. (We) can start eating. Matan, do you eat well? Because
Keren really doesn’t eat anything.
Matan: Oh, I eat very nicely and a lot.
Mom: Excellent! If you [will] get married, maybe Keren will start to eat too.
Matan: Really? Okay, so maybe we will really get married. Keren, what do you say?
Will you marry me?
Mom and dad: Yes, yes, she’ll marry you!
Keren: Mom and dad – I need to answer, not you! Ah… yes, I think that yes. I’ll marry
you.
Mom: Oh, congratulations! Keren, I’m going to call grandpa and grandma. They’ll get
so excited!
Keren: (Just a) moment, mom, don’t call grandpa and grandma. Matan needs to tell his
parents before you tell your parents.
Mom: No problem! Matan, call your parents now. Come on, call!
Matan: I can’t call now. My mobile phone is at home.
Mom: What’s the problem? Use my phone!
Matan: I don’t remember my parents’ number. It’s saved on my mobile phone’s
memory.
Mom: Okay, no problem. (We) can go to your parents’ house. Moshe, get dressed
nicely! We’re going to Matan’s parents.
Matan: Going to my parents? No, I can’t go now. I’m very excited, I will surely get
confused on the way.
Mom: Excited? You’ll get confused on the way? Oh, what a romantic guy. Keren, pray
that Matan will always be romantic. Because your dad… well, he’s not really a
romantic husband.
Dad: Excuse me? I’m very romantic. Keren, pray that Matan will be a good husband
like your father.
Keren: Dad, mom… Stop… I’m getting married! Can we please drink wine and have
[do] a “Lechayim”?
Mom: Yes, sure sweetie. Keren, Matan, Lechayim! Matan, you will always behave
nicely to my daughter, yes?
Dad: Keren, Matan, Lechayim! Matan, progress at work and Keren and you will get
rich!
Keren: Matan, Lechayim! Marry me quickly because in a moment I’ll go crazy…
