Peas and a carrot sat in the fridge
And along with a yam started wining:
“My feet are cold, turn on the light in the wall,
Because it’s dark like in Egypt, so let’s sing”
Let (us) grow quietly, in a flowerbed in a village
There the sun will shine tomorrow as well
Let (us) grow quietly without freezing [from cold]
Just some manure, water and light too.
Peas and a carrot sat in a frying pan
And along with a yam wanted to be alone
But alas, someone lights a match
And oil everywhere, it’s not funny!
