The Big Wave of Fires
In the end of November, a big wave of fires started in Israel. Dry weather,
strong winds, carelessness with fire and cases of arson – all these
combined probably caused the fire to spread in many places in Israel, and
for a week the police and fire departments couldn’t stop it. In Haifa,
Zikhron Ya’akov and many settlements in the West Bank trees, houses and
whole streets were burned. For instance, the owner of ‘Rama’s Kitchen’
restaurant in Nataf lost the restaurant in the fire, and the houses of Abigail
and Ofra, two twin sisters who live in the settlements Talmon and
Halamish, were burned day after day.
