The Giro in Israel
This is the biggest sporting even that ever was in Israel. The Giro d’Italia
bicycle race comes here for the first time. It’s very complicated logistics
that involves a lot of people working day and night. A hundred and
seventy six riders come from all over the world: United States, Italy,
Germany, France, Australia, and even Bahrein. The only two Israelis who
will participate in the competition are Guy Sagiv and Guy Niv. The riders
will go through four hundred and ten kilometers, from Haifa to Eilat, in
three days. From Israel the riders will fly to Italy, where they’ll finish the
race at the Vatican on May twenty seventh.
