Moving from Present Tense to Past Tense
In Binyan Nif'al, the easiest way to get to the past tense “kernel”
is by using present tense form. For example:
סַנכִנ ְ סֵנָכ ִ הְל
And that's it! This basic sound pattern already sounds like the
name of the Binyan – Nif'al:
NI...A...
To this basic "kernel" we add the corresponding suffixes
according to the pronoun. As an example let’s use the verb:
to enter - סֵנָכ ִהְל
סַנכִנ ְ סֵנָכ ִ הְל
Pronoun
Suffix וּ ם ֵה ה ִ ה י א אוּה
+ וּ סְנ ְכִנ ה+ ָ סְנ ְכִנ סַנ ְכִנ
Suffix וּסְנ ְכִנ ה ָ סְנ ְכִנ סַנ ְכִנ
Note that the kernel for אוּה is different than the kernel for ִהיא and ם ֵה
For the second chart, we use a slightly different “kernel”:
Pronoun
Suffix ם ֶת ם ֶ ת ַ א וּנ וּנ ְ חַנֲא ְת ְ ת ַ א ָת ה ָ ת ַ א י ִת י ִנֲא
םת + ֶ סַנ ְכִנ וּנ + סַנ ְכִנ ְת + סַנ ְכִנ ָ ת + סַנ ְכִנ י ִת + סַנ ְכִנ
Suffix
ם ֶת ְ סַנ ְכִנ וּנ ְ סַנ ְכִנ ְ ת ְ סַנ ְכִנ ָ ת ְ סַנ ְכִנ י ִת ְ סַנ ְכִנ
