Moving from Infinitive Form to Future Tense

‫ִל‬In Pa’al 3 we omit the infinitive form prefix
‫ֶה ֹות‬The ending
becomes , creating the sound pattern of:

…EE...EH

‫ִל‬Instead of the we use prefixes corresponding to the pronouns.
‫ֶה‬Suffixes will replace the sound. As an example let’s use the verb

to buy – ‫ ִל ְקנֹות‬. Follow the arrows to find the prefixes used for each

pronoun.

to buy - ‫ִל ְקנֹות‬

‫ִל ְקנֹות ← ְק ֶנה‬

Pronoun  ‫היא ← ִת הּוא ← ִי א ַנחנּו ← ִנ‬/‫* ֲאני ← ֶא ַא ָתה‬
Prefix
‫ק ֶנה‬+‫ק ֶנה ִנ‬+‫ִי‬ ‫ק ֶנה‬+‫ק ֶנה ִת‬+‫ֶא‬
Prefix 
‫ִיק ֶנה ִנק ֶנה‬ ‫ֶאק ֶנה ִתק ֶנה‬

Now we will also need to add the corresponding suffixes:

Pronoun  ‫ּו‬+‫ּו ֵהם ← ִי‬+‫ַא ֶתם ← ִת‬ ‫י‬+‫ַא ְת ← ִת‬
Prefix & Suffix 
‫י‬+‫קנ‬+‫ִת‬
